The Board of Directors of CapitaMalls Malaysia REIT Management Sdn. Bhd. (“CMRM”), manager of CMMT, wishes to announce that an amended and restated trust deed was entered into on 20 January 2015 between CMRM and AmTrustee Berhad, the trustee of CMMT (“Trustee”), to amend certain clauses in the original deed constituting CMMT dated 7 June 2010 between CMRM and the Trustee (the “ARTD”).

The ARTD was entered into so as to align the deed constituting CMMT with the applicable laws, regulations and guidelines governing real estate investment trusts and to provide for amendments which are administrative and/or technical in nature (the “Amendments”).    

CIMB Investment Bank Berhad had on 12 February 2015 received a letter from the Securities Commission Malaysia (“SC”) notifying that the ARTD has been registered by SC on 9 February 2015. As such, the effective date of the ARTD is 9 February 2015.

CMRM and the Trustee are of the opinion that the Amendments do not materially prejudice the interest of CMMT’s unitholders and do not operate to release the Trustee of CMRM from any responsibility to CMMT’s unitholders.

The details of the Amendments will be set out in an information circular to be issued to the unitholders of CMMT together with the 2014 annual report of CMMT.
